FREE! Brooklyn Ballet's Take Ballet to the Streets on July 20th is a program of performing and visual arts that express converging cultures in art now. Performances include Brooklyn Caprice, which features ten ballet dancers' and four street dancers' converging interpretations of their classical and contemporary ballet, pop and lock, and break dance movement styles. The accompanying music collage ranges from baroque to reggae, and includes an original score by Jim Papoulis.

Take Ballet to the Streets continues with Articulos Femeninos, a multi-media dance piece inspired by Jessica Sofia Mitrani’s, skywriting/site specific/intervention art installation of the same title. The program concludes with a dance party with DJ Soul Summit Music of Fort Greene, who is known for his enthralling Sunday music festivals. The dancers will be joining the crowd once the party begins, so come dance with us!
