in association with the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy.

Since 2004, the Silver-Brown Dance Company (SBD) has presented this free, annual outdoor series of site specific performances for the Brooklyn community, celebrating the revitalization of the Brooklyn waterfront.

OASIS 3 is presented in partnership with the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy, the Brooklyn Borough President, the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, and Goldman Sachs.  OASIS performances have been attended by thousands of Brooklynites and visitors. OASIS has been broadcast on Belgian TV, documented by Japanese photojournalist Kazuhiro Kaneyama, and BBC photographer Etienne Frossard. 2006 marks the 3rd year of the series.

Silver Brown 2 2006Each year SBD spends six weeks prior to the performances on-site, creating a new dance and interacting with the community.  This year our on-site residency begins on August 3rd, when Artistic Director Eva Silverstein will begin work on the choreography.  The Company includes six dancers, from diverse backgrounds, performing in SBD's signature work, celebrating the human spirit through "the joy of dance," The New York Times.

“I salute Silver-Brown Dance Company as they present this eloquent performance, commend them for continuing the long-running Brooklyn tradition of promoting the arts and making performance accessible to residents and visitors alike, and thank them for making Brooklyn a better place to live, work, and experience the arts.”
Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz
