The Conservancy’s most popular event returns for its ninth year! Movies With A View is one of the city’s premiere outdoor film series with an eclectic line-up of films and breathtaking views of the NYC waterfront. The films are chosen by an all-volunteer Film Committee and each feature is preceded by a Short film. DJs from Brooklyn Radio kick off the evening, spinning tunes as the sun sets, and RICE sells delicious dinners onsite. Bike valet provided by Transportation Alternatives. Presenting sponsor: SCI FI.

DESCRIPTION: Find out what lives in the waters under the Manhattan Bridge! Join experts from the Coastal Marine Resource Center and the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy as we use a 30-foot seining net to catch fish and other remarkable East River creatures. Families and kids can take a good look at the fish before we release them back to their homes and keep a tally of our catch. We provide field guides, identification keys, and plenty of fun to go around. Space is available for 30 kids plus their parents/guardians. There is no need to sign-up in advance; boating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Bring clothes you don’t mind getting wet, and shoes or sandals suitable for walking on a rocky beach. No training or prior experience is needed. The only requirement is that you know how to swim. All equipment is provided free. Kayaking and Canoeing will be inside a protected cove. Rowing will be in a group rowboat with an experienced guide. Children under 18 must have an adult guardian present.

One of the largest sporting events in the New York Harbor and one of the premiere outrigger canoe races in the world, the day long competition is best viewed along the waterfront. DESCRIPTION: DUMBO’s largest annual arts festival, with over 1,500 artists participating, returns for its 12th year. Art Under the Bridge spans over 30 blocks in DUMBO with nearly 1,500 established and emerging artists participating in the largest free-arts festival in the nation. Art and sound installations, nighttime projections, roving performance, live art, and exhibitions abound.
