ADA

Brooklyn Bridge Park is committed to making the park and its amenities and programs accessible to all audiences. Scroll down for more information on accessible features.

 

Amenities
Benches throughout the park have handrails and backs, companion seating is also available. Picnic tables at Empire Fulton Ferry are accessible. All of the park’s water fountains are accessible.

Access-a-Ride

For vistors using Access-a-Ride, please use the address 1 Water Street (corner of Old Fulton and Water Street).  This is the address to the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory located at Fulton Ferry Landing.

Entrances/Pathways
All park entrances and pathways are accessible.

Lawns
All lawns are accessible at grade.

Playgrounds
The play areas at Pier 1 and Pier 6 have accessible swings and ground level play equipment. The playground at Main Street has accessible ground level play features and ramped equipment.

Pop-Up Pool at Pier 2
The pool meets the new ADA Pool Accessibility requirements. The pool is equipped with a lift that provides mobility challenged individuals and seniors with a safe means by which to access the pool.

Programs                       
The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy welcomes users of all audiences to its diverse array of programs. From Chess to PuppetMobile and Zumba, we encourage visitors to join in to the extent of their ability. The Conservancy’s signature summer event, Syfy Movies with a View, is subtitled. Check our public events page for more information about the park’s diverse offerings.

Rentals
The park’s bike rental concessionaire, Bike and Roll, has handcycles and tandem bicycles available for rent by prior reservation. Bike and Roll is located at the entrance to Pier 1.

Restrooms
Restrooms are located at Pier 1, Pier 6, and Empire Fulton Ferry and are fully accessible.

Service Animals
Service animals are welcome in the park.

Squibb Park & Bridge
The original ramp in Squibb Park has been re-graded in order to enable ADA access into the park for the first time. The Squibb Bridge is accessible and improves the community's access to Squibb Park.

Transportation
The park has ferry landings at Pier 1 and Pier 6 that are serviced by the East River Ferry and Governors Island Ferry, both of which are accessible.
