Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy Announces Details for 2022 Movies With A View

June 8, 2022

One of Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s most popular series, Movies With A View, returns for its 22nd season with eight special Thursday nights in July and August on the Pier 1 Harbor View Lawn. This year, the theme of “Away We Go” showcases a blend of exciting action movies and family-friendly favorites to enjoy under the stars – all for free. Viewers will be transported to locations all over the world, from Jamaica to Vienna to the American West.

Movies for the 2022 season include:

Ahead of and during the films, guests can bring their own picnic or enjoy food and drink curated by Smorgasburg. Now opening earlier at 5:00pm along the Pier 1 Promenade, a wide range of vendors will be providing delicious bites and beverages through the start of each film. Beer and wine concessions will be available for purchase by adults 21 and over.

Doors for the lawn open at 6:00pm, with entrances at the top of Harbor View Lawn and along Pier 1 Promenade, and the movie begins at sundown. Ahead of the film, guests can enjoy a DJ spinning music courtesy of Brooklyn Radio, film shorts by local filmmakers and selected by BAM Film, and of course a gorgeous sunset overlooking the river! Details for each evening will be shared on their respective event pages closer to date.

Entry for all films is free, and offered on a first come, first serve basis. The finale of the series on August 25 is left as a Public Choice – with options of Back to the FutureMamma Mia!, or Mission Impossible. Park patrons can vote online in early August. Guests are encouraged to bring their own picnic blankets and kindly reminded that chairs and dogs are not permitted on the lawn, and glass bottles and outside alcohol are never allowed in the Park. Complimentary bike parking is offered by Transportation Alternatives at the Pier 1 Turnaround lot off Furman Street. This year, the series is also part of the Festival of New York, a collaborative celebration taking place across the city.

Since its launch in 2000, Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s Movies With A View series has entertained over 650,000 moviegoers, making it one of the most popular programs the Conservancy offers, and one of NYC’s favorite film series. Guests can show their support by providing a tax-deductible gift to the Conservancy, supporting over 500 arts and culture, education, and recreation programs run by the Conservancy in Brooklyn Bridge Park for thousands of New Yorkers to enjoy each year.
