About Swimming

The Pop-Up Pool will open June 27.

Suit up and cool off in the park’s 30- by 50-foot family-friendly Pop-Up Pool - a must-do stop for summer visitors from all over the city. Swimmers of all ages and levels are welcome to enter daily for 45-minute session blocks.

The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy offers affordable swim lessons for children during the summer season. Each session lasts for two weeks and includes eight 30-minute classes, providing your little ones with a safe place to get comfortable in the water and work off endless summer-day energy. Classes are held Monday through Thursday. Fridays are reserved for rain dates, if needed.

Summer 2018 Swim Lesson registration is now open.

Swim lessons teach little fishies of all ages:

  • Pool and water safety
  • How to be comfortable swimming and not fear the water
  • How to swim above and below water
  • Concentrate on proper movement of arms and feet
  • Learn a specific swim stroke
  • To have fun!

Parent or guardian must remain on-site for the duration of the class.
