Relax and enjoy the view of New York Harbor from the granite steps, built from stones salvaged from the Roosevelt Island Bridge reconstruction.

Located on Pier 1, the Granite Prospect has become an iconic feature of Brooklyn Bridge Park. In addition to offering breathtaking views of the skyline, the Granite Prospect is also the location of many of the park’s free events.

Granite Prospect is a dramatic set of steps built from over 300 pieces (approximately 2000 linear feet) of granite stones salvaged from the Roosevelt Island Bridge reconstruction.

In 1989 the Brooklyn Heights Association proposed the “Harbor Park” plan, the beginnings of what would become Brooklyn Bridge Park.
