TIDES (Teens Interested In and Dedicated to Environmental Stewardship) is Brooklyn Bridge Park’s premiere program for teens!
Join fellow teens from across the city as you complete weekly community service projects that focus on ecology, conservation, and sustainability in beautiful Brooklyn Bridge Park. TIDES is perfect for teens who have an existing or budding interest in the environment, are looking to learn new skills and enjoy being outdoors. No experience in stewardship or environmental projects is needed to apply! Applications are open to students age 14+ currently enrolled in high school.
TIDES is a multi-tiered program!
Teens that successfully complete the stewards, or first tier of the program, are eligible to continue their work with Brooklyn Bridge Park by applying for the TIDES Apprenticeship, a teen leadership program that directly supports environmental education and public programs in the park. Juniors and Seniors (rising and current) who successfully complete both the stewards and apprenticeship programs are eligible to apply for the paid (minimum wage), TIDES Internship, where they’ll gain valuable work experience and mentorship in the field of environmental education and stewardship.
