How To Get Here

Celebrate the final Movies with a View film, as part of Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s 22nd season of Brooklyn’s beloved outdoor film series!

On Thursday, August 25 the movie was left to Public Choice and the winning selection is Mamma Mia! (PG-13)!

Donna (Meryl Streep), an independent hotelier in the Greek islands, is preparing for her daughter’s wedding with the help of two old friends. Meanwhile Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), the spirited bride, has a plan. She secretly invites three men from her mother’s past in hope of meeting her real father and having him escort her down the aisle on her big day. Directed by Phyllida Lloyd.

Lawn open at 6pm and the movie begins at sundown (around 7:55 PM). Smorgasburg will provide tasty treats and drinks all evening along the Pier 1 promenade, now starting earlier at 5:00pm, featuring a selection of NYC’s favorite food vendors! Beer and wine concessions will be available for purchase for adults 21 and over.

The pre-movie lineup includes DJ Isis Swaby brought to you by Brooklyn Radio, and a short film We Call Him Super (directed by local filmmaker Michael Patten), selected by BAM Film.

Free bike valet will be available thanks to Transportation Alternatives. Thanks for our media sponsor Park Slope Parents!

Movies With A View FAQs

  • Is Movies With A View free?

Yes, Movies With a View is free. If you would like to support the Conservancy’s work providing New Yorkers with hundreds of free and low cost events and activities like Movies With A View, consider making a donation here.

  • Can I bring my own food?

Of course. Feel free to bring in your own food, but outside alcohol and glass is still prohibited on the lawn. To that end, be advised that bag checks will be conducted at the entrance.

  • Is registration required to attend?

All MWAV nights will be open to the public, first come, first served – no advanced registration is required. We recommend arriving early to claim your spot on the lawn when doors open at 6pm.

  • When should I come?

Food and music start at 5:00 PM on the Pier 1 Promenade, the lawn opens at 6:00 PM, and movies begin at sundown (around 8:30pm). We recommend arriving early to move through bag check, stake out a good spot, and take in the spectacular skyline!

  • Can I bring my own chairs, or my dog? What can I bring?

No and no unfortunately. Chairs (other than wheelchairs) are not allowed on the lawn, so please bring your own blanket. Dogs are not allowed on the lawns at any time, per Park rules.

There is limited reserved seating at the top of the lawn (on the hardscape) for people who require physical accommodations. Please see a Conservancy staff member at one of our welcome tents upon arrival to inquire.

  • Why is there a bag check?

Outside alcohol and glass bottles have always been prohibited in the Park. With food and drink options from Smorgasburg, we want to remind you of this policy in order to ensure the safety and security of moviegoers.

  • Will food and drinks be available for purchase?

Yes! This year, we’re partnering with Smorgasburg to bring in sweet treats, savory snacks, and drinks — including beer and wine — to the movies. Check back for the 2023 vendor line-up.

  • Where can I park my bike?

We are happy that Transportation Alternatives will once again be providing free bike valet services for moviegoers at the Pier 1 Turnaround lot off Furman Street.
