Explore Brooklyn Bridge Park like never before during open hours at the Environmental Education Center. 

The Environmental Education Center is now open for free, drop-in hours three afternoons a week at 99 Plymouth Street in Dumbo, Brooklyn! Get to know Brooklyn Bridge Park with monthly educational themes, a 250 gallon aquarium filled with critters from the East River, a 10’ scale model of Brooklyn Bridge Park, crafts, a reading corner, and much more.

Open Hours offer the opportunity for self-led investigation with guidance by expert educators to reveal the hidden stories found within and around Brooklyn Bridge Park.

PREPARING FOR YOUR VISIT

  • Safety Measures and Entry

      ​​The Conservancy is committed to providing a safe environment for visitors to the Environmental Education Center and will continue to follow State, City, and CDC guidelines to limit the spread of COVID-19.

      Requirements are as follows: 

      • We strongly recommend all visitors wear a mask, especially those who are not fully vaccinated. We kindly ask for your cooperation as we continue to protect our youngest and most vulnerable visitors.
      • One adult from each family unit must sign-in with the number in group and zip code. By signing in, you are also attesting your group has self-certified for COVID symptoms. 
      • A maximum of 25 visitors are allowed in the Education Center at a time.
      • The room will follow a one-in, one-out policy when at capacity. If demand is continually high, visitors may be subject to time-limits. 
      • Masks, gloves, hand sanitizer will be available onsite for participants.

  • About the Environmental Education Center

      Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s Environmental Education Center is a year-round space, located at 99 Plymouth Street in DUMBO.  It is the home base for our thriving education program which serves over 10,000 school children each year. The Environmental Education Center is open to families and park visitors on weekends and weekday afternoons.
