How To Get Here

Trusty Sidekick Theater Company present their original work A Perfect Party for Trees, developed at Brooklyn Bridge Park as 2022 Open Studios Artists-in-Residence.

Developed specifically for young people on the autism spectrum, this highly immersive and sensory experience welcomes neurodiverse audiences of all backgrounds and ages. Performances will take place on:

  • Friday, September 23 at 5pm
  • Saturday, September 24 at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm
  • Sunday, September 25 at 10am

Each performance runs about 45-60 minutes long.

Including original music, puppetry and actors as your guides, audiences will enjoy a roving performance traversing Pier 3’s lawn (starting at Pier 3’s southwest entrance). Recommended for ages 5 and up, but younger kids are welcome to come and watch!

To RSVP, please email [email protected] with the name and age of the young person/s participating, as well as the names of the adults accompanying them. More information will follow!

RSVP required as capacity will be highly limited to ensure an accessible and interactive engagement for children and their caregivers – each performance limited to ~30 total. Walkups will be accommodated as space allows.

In A Perfect Party for Trees, guests are welcome to try multi-sensory activities, participatory puppetry, and collective live music in a celebration of nature. Guided friends The Beekeeper, The Bear, and Ms. Branch, they create a gentle and playful space for their audience to dig like a badger, sing like a bird, and sit quietly like a tree to become a part of the forest itself. With no wrong way to celebrate, it will be the perfect party every time.
