Experience a brand new workout on Pier 2.

Select Wednesdays — June, July, and August 2019.

The Class is a music driven practice where we exercise the body to engage the mind.  Through physical conditioning, we “work out” mental and emotional behaviors to create new tools for experiencing life.

Through a series of repetitive simple cardio and strength-based exercises, students are invited to witness their response to whatever arises during the movement. This can be anything from physical discomfort to unexpressed emotions leading the participants through a journey of engaging with the body as a lever to the mind. More often than not, the same internal dialogue that shows up during The Class is also showing up off the mat.

It is a wringing out, literally and figuratively, of the body, mind, and soul.

Remember to bring a mat if you have one (a limited number of mats are available first come first served - with valid ID).

Teacher Bios

NATALIE: Wednesday, June 12, 7:00 PM-8:00 PM

Natalie’s background includes a BFA in performance from NYU with years of multi-disciplinary movement training including Suzuki, Viewpoints, Grotowski and Committed Impulse. Her classes are athletic, vigorous, empowering, and suffused with her natural effervescence. She brings her students face-to-face with their own personal challenges; together, they sweat, they dig deep, and they come out energized — discovering how strong they are, mentally and physically.

COURTNEY: Wednesday, July 10, 7:00 PM-8:00 PM

From the start, Courtney’s life has been fueled by movement. Her classical ballet training began at age three and continued with prestigious schools that led a professional career across the United States. Her deep passion and dedication to that practice guided her to where she is today : personally and professionally. Courtney’s empowering, high-energy Classes are created with the intention to give students space to explore and discover themselves, without any type of judgment. She asks students to meet themselves exactly as they are and do the work from there. She gives her students full permission to realize their full potential and bring that feeling with them off the mat.

ERIN: Wednesday, August 7, 7:00 PM-8:00 PM

A dancer her whole life, Erin’s first love is music that makes you want to move. Combined with a background in yoga and indoor cycling, she is constantly finding new ways to explore the mind body connection through physicality. Erin’s Classes give you an opportunity to get out of your head to get into your body. Her vibrant energy and soulful music invite you to move and release tension. Her Classes combine athletic intensity with lighthearted fun. Erin wants her Students to envision their work on the mat as fierce preparation for life outside the Studio. Together, they attack the cathartic workout, but also laugh at themselves along the way.
