2011 Public Art Installations

Yoga by Mark di Suvero

In partnership with Storm King Art Center and the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy, Brooklyn Bridge Park presented the installation at Pier 1 of Mark di Suvero’s Yoga (1991), a monumental kinetic steel sculpture.

The roughly thirty-foot-tall composition was installed on Bridge View Lawn at Pier 1 from 2011 to 2013, overlooking the East River. The sculpture created changing shadows and perspectives as the I-beam pivots with the wind and “points” to the harbor, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Governors Island and beyond.
