Fulton Ferry Landing
The Fulton Ferry Landing pier at the foot of Old Fulton Street is one of Brooklyn’s most historic sites, marking the location of the first ferry service between Brooklyn and Manhattan in 1642. The refurbished pier was re-opened in 1997, offering visitors spectacular views of the harbor, Brooklyn Bridge and the Lower Manhattan skyline.
A favorite of bridal parties and tourists for its picturesque setting, Fulton Ferry Landing features custom-designed marine railings that interweaves Walt Whitman’s famous “Crossing Brooklyn Ferry” poem with imagery evocative of the Brooklyn Bridge. Bronze relief drawings of local historic scenes are embedded in the pier deck.
Visitors can access New York Water Taxi service from this pier as well as sample the all-natural offerings of the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory. Visitors to Bargemusic also enter from Fulton Ferry Landing.
