Birding

For true feather-fans, thrills (and photo ops) await at the salt marsh on Pier 1, the meadow on Pier 6 and natural habitats on Pier 4.

About Birding

Bird lovers flocking to Brooklyn Bridge Park have spotted over 120 species of birds. Among the birds you might expect to see are Peregrine falcons, various wading birds, shorebirds and other waterfowl.

Rambling through different areas of the park provides a unique chance to explore several ecologies up close, in a way that minimizes human impact on new habitat.

BBP Birder Extraordinaire, Heather Wolf, runs The Birds of Brooklyn Bridge Park, a blog where she documents the different species she encounters in the park.
